What is Base24 encoding?
Base24 is a binary-to-text encoding that turns every 4 bytes into 7 symbols from the alphabet ZAC2B3EF4GH5TK67P8RS9WXY. The alphabet avoids look-alike characters, so codes are easy to read aloud and type by hand.
Is Base24 encryption?
No. Base24 is an encoding, not encryption. Anyone can decode it. Encrypt sensitive data first, then encode the ciphertext if you need a readable format.
Why does my output end with extra symbols?
Base24 works on 4-byte blocks. Text that is not a multiple of 4 bytes is padded with zero bytes, which are removed automatically when you decode.
Is decoding case-sensitive?
No. Upper-case and lower-case input decode identically, and spaces or dashes between groups are ignored.
